Events: EJP Opening Night and Training 2018

Our 2018 Opening Function was held at the awesome Thievery Studio on K Road. For our first big event of 2018, we welcomed new volunteers, returning volunteers, former volunteers, supporters and community partners. We presented the annual Equal Justice Project Award to Sylvia Bell in recognition of her ongoing commitment to justice. She gave an inspiring speech, as did the formidable Justice Helen Winkelmann. Thank you very much to the Auckland District Law Society for sponsoring us!

The 2018 Executive: from left to right: Imogen Kelly, Jane Wang, Chloe Wilson, Daniel Gambitsis, Lucy Kelly, Claudia Russell, Gussie Cohen, Ella Stolwerk and Katie Pigou (unfortunately Alex Sims was absent)

Our annual training day took place the following day. Volunteers from all four teams got the opportunity to meet each other, before attending their individual team trainings. We were very lucky to have some of our community partners come along to help!

Thanks to everyone who attended, we couldn’t do this without your support.
